At Brazos Valley Eyecare, we know patients often have similar questions before their appointment. To make your visit as seamless as possible, we’ve compiled answers to some of the most common inquiries we receive.
Where is Brazos Valley Eyecare located?
We are conveniently located inside Post Oak Mall, right beside Lens Crafters. Please note, there is no mall entrance directly near us. The closest entrance is by Chuck E. Cheese, so we recommend parking near that area for easiest access.
Do you accept walk-ins for eye exams?
Yes, we accept walk-ins as the schedule allows. If we have availability, we’re happy to see you without a prior appointment. However, to guarantee a spot, we recommend calling ahead or booking online.
Should I bring my old prescription or glasses to my appointment?
While it is not required, bringing your previous eyewear or prescription is helpful. This allows our doctors to better understand your eye history and ensure you’re receiving the most accurate care possible.
What vision and medical insurance plans do you accept?
We accept a wide range of vision and medical insurance plans, including:
- iCare by iMed (iMed Plus provider)
- Spectera
- Davis Vision
- Superior Vision
We also accept out-of-network benefits for VSP (Vision Service Plan), and most major medical insurance plans, such as:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Cigna
- UnitedHealthcare
Note: Coverage and copays can vary by plan, so we recommend calling our office directly to confirm your benefits before your appointment.
How long does an eye exam take at Brazos Valley Eyecare?
A standard eye exam typically lasts between 45 minutes to an hour. This includes time for any optional or recommended testing.
Do you offer retinal imaging instead of dilation?
Yes! We offer retinal imaging for $29 as a convenient alternative to dilation. This non-invasive scan allows us to assess the health of your retina without using dilating drops in most cases.
- We recommend retinal imaging for all patients.
- In some situations, dilation may still be necessary depending on your eye health and the clarity of the image captured.
Do I need someone to drive me if my eyes are dilated?
In most cases, you will not need a driver, even if dilation is performed. However, if you feel more comfortable having someone drive you, it’s always a good idea to plan accordingly.
