Dr. Mackenzie Kirkpatrick was born and raised in Bay City, Texas. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Health, focusing on Allied Health, and went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, in 2021.
During her training, Dr. Kirkpatrick gained well-rounded clinical experience across specialties including specialty contact lenses, vision therapy, cataract and refractive surgery co-management, and ocular disease management. She also has a passion for service and participated in Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH), traveling to Mérida, Mexico, and Belmopan, Belize to provide essential eye care to underserved communities.
Aggieland holds a special place in Dr. Kirkpatrick’s heart – it’s where she met her husband, Justin. They are thrilled to be back in the Bryan/College Station area, which they feel is the perfect place to raise their two boys. Outside the clinic, they enjoy being active in their local church, cheering on the Aggies, and spending time with their golden retriever.
Dr. Kirkpatrick is excited to be part of the Brazos Valley Eyecare team and looks forward to providing you and your family with compassionate, high-quality eye care.
